Limited Addictions Winemaker Dinner at Town Hall Restaurant in San Franscisco

Last night, 20 guests enjoyed an extravagant evening of cult New Zealand Bordeaux blend wines paired with a distinctively local and eclectic menu prepared by Town Hall restaurant in San Francisco. Limited Addictions Wine Club members, their friends and special guest Mark Feldman of Destiny Bay Wines were all in attendance for this incredible evening.

While guests raved about a soup that elegantly starred some of the first heirloom tomatoes of the season, Mark Feldman treated new friends and old with stories about Destiny Bay’s vineyards, which are sheltered by the amphitheater like contours of New Zealand’s Waiheke Island.

Wines of the evening included the inaugural 2004 vintage of Destiny Bay Magna Praemia, as well as its younger brother and sister the 2005 Magna Praemia and Mystae, respectively. While Mark and Alyssa’s informative introductions set the tone for the evening, healthy exchanges on old-world winemaking techniques, reverse triangular mergers and the latest Claire Messud novel could be overheard at both ends of the majestic table that filled Town Hall’s private upstairs dining room.

Bottlenotes Launches the Little Black Dress Wine Club

Last Thursday evening, under the bright lights of Rockefeller Center, ladies in black dresses and dapper gents in suits lifted glasses to toast the launch of the Bottlenotes Little Black Dress Club. Over 100 guests mingled in the front courtyard of Christie's Auction House while sipping on 12 delicious wines from around the world.

Bottlenotes' Little Black Dress wine club launched under the golden canopy of the New York sky amid women clad in little black dresses, tasting wines from around the world  and cheeses from NYC's Ideal Cheese shop.  As guests reveled in the evening, sipping and viewing a display of fabulous black dresses, author Joyce Ostin did a signing of her latest anthology, Hollywood Dads.  The vibrant atmosphere and glorious location provided an idyllic setting for the tasting.

Lucky for all of us who weren't there: we can recreate this fete by hosting our own Little Black Dress Party!  While it probably won't be at Christie's, the company, atmosphere, and wines are what really make an evening like that so special anyway (although paparazzi and a location like Christies never hurt). To see all the fun our inaugural LIttle Black Dress Launch Party Hostesses have been having, check out the Little Black Dress Wine Club Blog. Cheers!
